Energy Ombudsman Queensland
The Queensland Government has put in place an independent Energy Ombudsman to protect your consumer rights in the energy market after 1 July 2007.
The Energy Ombudsman is empowered to resolve complaints and disputes between small electricity and reticulated natural gas consumers and their energy retailers and distributors.
And importantly, the services of the Energy Ombudsman are free for small customers.
The Energy Ombudsman replaced the Energy Consumer Protection Office (ECPO), and will continue to provide a free dispute resolution service for small customers.
