The quality or reliability of your electricity supply will continue no matter who your retailer is.

Queensland’s current distributors - either ENERGEX in south-east Queensland or Ergon Energy in regional Queensland - continue to operate the poles and wires that supply your home or business. The Queensland Government, which continues to own the distribution businesses, has invested significantly in network infrastructure and maintenance including construction, fault repair and upgrading of poles, wires, transformers, substations and cables.

Power outages

ENERGEX (in south-east Queensland) and Ergon Energy (in the rest of the state) remain responsible for running the state's electricity network under Government ownership.
